Electric Avenue

Electric Avenue is an email list for EV owners and enthusiasts in the San Luis Obispo area.

Purposes of the group:

  • Inform local EV owners about upcoming events of interest.
For example, National Drive Electric Week
  • Solicit preferences/requests from local EV owners.
For example: “Where do you think it would be most beneficial to install a level 3 charging station?”
  • Lobby local government and local businesses for EV amenities.
For example: Creation of premium parking spots for EVs, like those which already exist at Target.

As we transition to a green economy and the population of EVs in the area increases, we will need to nudge local government and businesses in the right direction. We invite you to lend the weight of your voice to the collective advocacy for EV benefits, including the installation and maintenance of charging stations at local employers, businesses, and facilities (e.g., medical centers).

The purpose of this group is not commercial. We are not asking for any money, time, or commitment from you. Electric Avenue exists so that the SLO Climate Coalition can get a better idea of how many EVs are in the area, and what would improve the lives of their owners.

What you get by signing up:
We anticipate sending out a handful of emails per year. These may include invitations to a poll regarding current developments in the SLO area, to a local government meeting where EV issues will be discussed, or to an EV events, like an EV show, or a parade featuring an EV group. We may also send information about major local/state/national policy changes that affect EV owners or EV purchasing & tax incentives.

Privacy statement:
We will not share your individual information (including name, email, preferences, poll responses) with any third parties, ever. Data we collect will only be reported in aggregate, for example, “Of the Tesla owners we polled, 54% said that they’d prefer having a supercharger installed in the Costco parking lot, and 46% preferred the Ralph’s on Madonna.” Data we collect may be used to influence policy decisions, but will never be used for marketing.
