A message from Barry Rands, Event Coordinator |
National Drive Electric Week has come to a close. Our on-line events that were part of Drive Electric Week SLO were viewed by many of you, but if you missed them live, you can view the recordings here: Have you tried an e-bike yet? SLO Mayor Heidi Harmon and others share their experiences and benefits of biking electric. https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/play/m4r_3Isso3pnn2mWk7syq-kpiVPMUHDwtrpqVs9AbmRlH9w9XnoQjeNWc6QP9BCuLV-UU3eZlLxDjAPR.Qlm56_HzK1Dh6A_l?continueMode=true&_x_zm_rtaid=gdy926xISDSw3WTsDOGFJw.1602827778367.b3d4c8e0a98346ca0c4da6c9caae1043&_x_zm_rhtaid=7 Chevy Bolt Virtual Test Drive presented by Alfano Motorcars, available in both English and Spanish. https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/iKe9QR1mK2i12bHXduYiwKepH32alD5jYj-bqmULd-JjMbnp8UUoCZlBmTdFkU4.ulq2UuStvqpjPx3-?startTime=1601406021000 EV Users Speak Out – a panel discussion of local EV users about the joys and challenges of driving electric. https://youtu.be/Ajs-3Cc_KR4 Policies, incentives, and technology to promote EV adoption https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mHv3roq1QGIKY4WitN0MDEd96F2Wys1q/view Electric Vehicles 101 – everything you need to know about driving electric https://youtu.be/a9YgreAivDA Virtual Test Drive Day – available in both English and Spanish 2020 Nissan Leaf https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601744425000 2020 Honda Clarity PHEV https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601747988000 2019 Kia Niro EV https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601751620000 2017 Chevy Volt https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601755190000 2019 Tesla Model S https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601758820000 2015 Nissan Leaf https://us02web.zoom.us/rec/share/kp6EGDMFPwuvVYIfRISgVUyzLZbjDIMJVP7gs2ZBgiEgOaC25nQyHBlBAdJ4aDFc.x-RznSpmy4nVFvWM?startTime=1601762397000 We hope that you are yearning for more information! Below is a list of online resources that will help make that exploration efficient and informative. National Resources: Plug In America EV Support Program This is a great tool that offers one-on-one assistance with any and all of your EV related questions. The first call is free, and if you need follow-up information, it is only $4 per month for the service. BTW, I used it and was talking to a live person immediately! Plug In America PlugStar online EV shopping tool Everything you need to know to drive electric. This link features the EV shopping tool which makes recommendations based on your budget, driving habits, and other information that you provide. ClipperCreek EV Charging / Charging Station Safety This PDF offers information about charging at home and charging safety, but you need to go to Clipper Creek Charger Selector Tool to get a recommendation based on your specific requirements. Electrify America Normal Now Many EV information sites are great at providing technical information and specific details that may be overwhelming. Electrify America offers specifics but with a twist that demystifies driving electric by helping us understand how “normal” it can be. Local Resources: Clean Vehicle Rebate Project Overview of EV Incentives This is a PDF overview of financial incentives for Californians, but even better is their link: https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/eng/community/savings that allows you to zero in on incentives that are available in your zip code and for your income level. Electric Drive 805 This bi-lingual site offers a variety of resources specific to residents of Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. Finally, let me add that it wouldn’t have been possible to put this all together without a grant from Plug In America and the cooperation of the SLO County APCD, the Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition, the Community Environmental Council, and the volunteer team in the SLO Climate Coalition. Each of these organizations have programs geared to help us drive cleaner and also make our households, businesses, and communities greener and more resilient in a climate that is rapidly changing our way of life. Follow their links to find out more. |
